Worth the 'Weight!'

10th Jun 2019

Primary Three have been investigating weight over the past few weeks.  They talked about heavier and lighter and discovered objects that were about the same as 500g and 1kg.  They really enjoyed the practical side of this topic especially when they discovered learning about weight fitted in very nicely with BAKING and our SPACE topic! Unfortunately due to our busy school schedule our bun making was delayed a few times but it happened eventually and they all agreed the 'weight' was worth it!  The children learned about recipes, ingredients, the importance of hand washing and of course had the opportunity to come and weigh out real ingredients for our 'Space Special' buns.  As you can see they certainly enjoyed the decorating and EATING!  If you are baking with your child remember they are never to young to start weighing out and becoming familiar with grams and kilograms.
