26/6/12; Watch out Usain Bolt!

6th Nov 2012

The boys and girls in Primary Six had a fantastic treat today when they got to go to the Aura Leisure complex in Letterkenny to take part in a fantastic Olympic Day. The children have had Olympic coaching over the last number of weeks in preparation for today's event and also had to create some art work to bring along. This special day was to celebrate the finale of the North West Peace Building Programme (NWPBP).

Schools from the Omagh, Strabane, Londonderry and Donegal regions attended the event. When all children arrived they were split into 5 different teams, which were entitled:

Each team were given a special T-Shirt to wear and it was one that they could also keep at the end of the day. Each group worked their way through different Olympic events over the course of the day and were provided with some expert coaching throughout.

As mentioned earlier, our school had to bring some art work to the special day. We were given the job of creating Olympic art work on the country of Iraq.
