Up, Up and Away!

As part of out new 'Up, Up and Away' topic P3/4 have been following in the steps of the Wright Brothers by creating their own airplanes!  They had the opportunity to design, test fly, then make alterations to their planes.  We discovered that they flew straighter if they had a weight on the front and flew for longer when the wing span was bigger.

This new knowledge was tested with a class flying competition in the assembly hall.  We had two tests: which plane could go the furthest and which plane could stay up the longest.  After many rounds we declared Stevie and Billy's, 'Robinson's Lightening 306' the winner in both categories.  As you can see we really enjoyed our practical learning.
