Today P2/3 were introduced to the name 'Roald Dahl' but few knew who he actually was until I mentioned such famous books as, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', 'Matilda' and 'The Witches'. We watched a short video about his life and were intrigued to learn that he was a pilot during World War Two AND a spy for a short time afterwards before he became an author!
P2/3 then listened to Roald Dahl's book, 'The Enormous Crocodile' and made some fierce crocodiles of their own to take home.
Roald Dahl Day is celebrated every year on the 13th September which is the date of this famous author's birthday. If you happen to have a Roald Dahl book at home why not point it out or read it with your child today to celebrate the anniverary of this amazing author who has brought so much fun to reading over the years.
