Roald Dahl Day
Each year the amazing life of the author Roald Dahl is celebrated on his birthday, 13th September. This year we remembered Roald Dahl by learning all about his life. We heard everything from where he was born to his years in the RAF and from his school boy days of testing chocolate for the Cadburys factory to his amazing popularity as an author.
Although Roald Dahl also wrote many novels for adults it is his children's ficition which has provided so much fun over the years for us in school and encouraged so many little readers to develop a love of Literature and for that we are all so thankful to this wonderful man. Let's hear it for Roald Dahl, hip, hip hooray!
P1-4 Heard the story of, 'The Enormous Crocodile' and will be completing some Literacy and Art based on the story.
P5-7 Heard three stories from, 'Revolting Rhymes' and also have associated Literacy and Art activites as a follow up.
P3-7 Finished up Roald Dahl Day with the film, 'Matilda' which was greatly enjoyed by all.
