P2/3 Pancake Day

Happy Pancake Tuesday everyone!

Today P2/3 didn't actually make any pancakes but pancakes were definitely involved! 

We started the day by learning a Pancake Poem and completed our handwriting task when we copied it into our Literacy books. We then got ready for a taste test using Nutella, honey, and sugar and lemon to find out which topping we preferred on our pancakes.

First the children divided their pancakes into halves then quarters. Each quarter was then given a different topping for each child to taste test with the final quarter used to have a second helping of their favourite topping.  It was fun to watch all the excitement of spreading, pouring and tasting!  After the tasting session the class voted with their feet for their favourite topping.  They then transferred their vote to the Interactive White Board and answered some questions based on the results.  Afterwards the children used this data to make their own graph during Numeracy.

To finish our Pancake day fun we learned our poem and recited it whilst everyone had a turn at tossing the pancake!  We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures as much as we enjoyed taking part.
