Donemana Primary School participated in their first cricket event of the academic year on Thursday 26th of November. The North West Regional Indoor Cricket Tournament was held in Artigarvan Hall and the four participating teams were: DPS, Bready Jubilee, Artigarvan PS and Sion Mills PS. The Indoor Tournament had four matches in total, comprising of two semi-finals, a final and a third place play-off.
DPS were drawn out of the hat against Bready Jubilee and this proved to be an entralling encounter. After some tense batting and bowling DPS came out victorious with a ONE run victory. A special mention must be given to Jamie for some terrific batting in that match.
Having won their semi-final, DPS progressed to the final where they met their neighbouring school, Artigarvan. Again this was an exciting encounter and DPS went on to win the match by EIGHT runs! They were crowned champions!
The children had a wonderful day and would also like to thank Brian Allen for such a well-organised tournament.
A huge well done to the 8 children involved: Cody, Dylan, Lewis, William, Cody (Captain), Jamie, Ethan and Jacob.
