During their first number topic of the year, Place Value, P5/6 had to order large numbers in either ascending or descending order. For this particular lesson the learning environment was different as numeracy took place outside on the playground.
Working in teams against each other, the children had to try to order themselves from lowest to highest or highest to lowest. However, there was one huge factor to consider when working in their teams, they weren't allowed to talk. :)
This made things very interesting for the children and they had to try hard to study all the numbers very carefully before re-ordering themselves in the line.
