Entrepreneurs in Primary 6/7
Our superstars in Mrs Timoney's P6/7 class have created their own businesses to make some money for school trips. They have got into groups of 4/5 and have devised their own mini-business. The had to come up with ideas that would sell in school and then had to do the hard part, convince Rev Stockitt and Mrs Hay to give them some money to start their business. The children worked very hard as they had to search through stock in supermarkets checking for the cheapest price, work out how much money they would need, how much they would sell their products for and if they would make any profit. To help the children they went on a trip to the craft village and spoke to business owners Hank and Mrs Devine, owners of the Thatch Cottage Coffee Shop, and also spoke to Aoife, the owner of Sass and Halo. The children created a PowerPoint stating why Rev Stockitt and Mrs Hay should invest in them, showing profit, loss and graphs. The children finally got to sell their products during break times and sports day. They have currently made a large profit and hopefully will make even more before the end of term! Well done P6/7!
