This year’s tournament was held at Strabane Cricket Club and turned out to be a very successful day for DPS. The girls section of the tournament worked as a group phase. Donemana girls’ team won their group by beating both St Anne’s C Team and St Joseph’s. This meant they got through to the final where they played the winner of the other group, Sion Mills PS. This was a closely fought final but Donemana girls were victorious!
The boys’ section was a league format. Both DPS A and DPS B Teams were in this league. The Donemana B Team played well by winning 2 games but unfortunately lost 2 games.
However DPS A Team played exceptionally well and won all 4 of their matches against Artigarvan A, Artigarvan B, Donemana B and Sion Mills PS finishing by being crowned overall winners!
The next step for both teams is a trip to Belfast in June where they will play in the NI finals against the other regional winners.
All the children are really looking forward to the trip to Belfast as the final will be played at the home ground of the Ireland Cricket Team at Stormont.
