Animals in Winter
P2/3 have been continuing with their 'Animals in Winter' topic and learning lots through their Activity Based Play sessions.
At the Art Station we have been making 3D animals from scrap materials. Children have been learning how to attach different materials together and how to mix paint to create realistic colours.
At the Game Station we have been identifying different habitats and matching them to the different animals that live in each one. We also had to practise taking turns and sharing at this station!
At the Building Station children were playing in the 'snow,' building igloos and transport that could move in the snow (sugar) We also had some VERY creative children who built a polar bear and a penguin from Lego!
At the Reading Corner we were looking at the habitat books and deciding which animal we wanted to study for our fact page which will be made in ICT later this week.
As well as our topic stations children were building up their spelling abilities with Spelling Shed games on the iPads and challenging themselves with Tens and Units addition on the whiteboards.
Thursdays are a busy but fun day in P2/3 and we all look forward to and enjoy our learning through Activity Based Play.
