A Calming Classroom
Today P2/3 were being very active - taking part in movement games to help them remember keywords and spellings. After all that activity we needed some calm again so we talked about what a calm atmosphere was and took suggestions from the class on how to achieve this. The children decided a calm atmosphere was one where they weren't excited so we took some nice deep breaths to slow us down a little after our activity. They though that they probably shouldn't be talking - Mrs Connor definitely agreed with that one! They also thought music might help them relax and finally we decided that a mindfulness colouring task sounded like the perfect activity to help create a calm classroom.
Mrs Connor was amazed and very proud of how the children listened to the mindfulness instructions and focused only on their own work and the music. Have a little look at our super neat colouring and our lovely calm environment in class today.
