100 Years of Christmas and Post Office Visit!

What a wonderful day P1/Reception and P2/3 have had!  First we had all the excitement of travelling by bus then we stopped at Ballykelly Post Office where Philip kindly answered some questions that we had been wondering about since starting our, 'Jolly Christmas Postman' topic.  He even let us watch him serving customers. 

After this it was back on the bus to Tamlaghtfinlagan church Hall where,  '100 Years of Christmas' was waiting for us to explore!
The children had a great time looking at all the old toys and memorabilia.  We heard all about how Christmas trees used to have real CANDLES burning on them and how 100 years ago children didn't really get any toys at all - we were very pleased that that has changed over the years!
