Over the last couple of months a group of children have been working on a special project with a representative from the company ‘Beam’. The focus of this project was ‘Anti-Bullying’, something we at Donemana PS have focussed on quite significantly this year so far. The children really enjoyed this project as they had to use the art of drama quite a lot to express themselves.
The children, along with the project leader, were also responsible for writing a song, recording the song for a CD, writing and performing a small drama sketch, choreographing a dance routine and finally to put on an assembly to showcase all the work they did throughout the programme. The assembly was highly enjoyable as parents, teachers and all the other children in school got to see the drama sketch, hear the song and watch the dance routine.
The children worked extremely hard on this project and that was clear to everyone who attended the assembly. Tura, the project leader, also showed off his exceptional dancing talent at the end of the assembly by performing a small piece. The children’s CD with the recorded song will hopefully be on sale in school shortly and could make a lovely Christmas present. Huge congratulations to all the children involved, you certainly have done Donemana Primary School proud.
