STEM Challenge heats 2017

31st Mar 2017

Some of our Primary 6 and Primary 7 children expressed an interest in participating in the regional heats of the Sentinus STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Challenge.  We held some heats in school which resulted in 2 teams going forward to the official heats today in Omagh County Primary School.  Our 2 teams were absolutely fabulous and were able to create a car, which travelled straight and as far as possible, to house an egg.  One team built a car which travelled the furthest of all and the other team was one of 4 winning teams which will now progress to the Northern Ireland final in Jordanstown in June.  Huge congratulations to all the children who took part and for being such good engineers!  We enjoyed a lovely McDonalds on the way home for lunch as a treat!  Watch this space to see how they get on in the final.  Good luck James, Gareth and Ryan.
