Primary School Uniform Grants

The Minster for Education has announced a School Uniform Grant of £35 to parents for the next school year-previously only available in Secondary Schools, but now available in Primary Schools. The conditions are set out below, and the bottom of the page carries a link to the WELB website where the forms can be downloaded from.

ENTITLEMENT TO FREE SCHOOL MEALS

A pupil shall be entitled to Free School Meals/School Uniform/Physical Education Clothing Allowance where:

the parent/guardian is in receipt of Income Support or Income-Based Job Seekers Allowance, or Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance, or if a pupil claims Income Support in their own name; or

the parent receives the Guarantee element of State Pension Credit; or

the parents receive the Child Tax Credit; and are not receiving Working Tax Credit because they work less than 16 hours per week and have an annual taxable income of £16,040 or less; or

he/she is the child of an Asylum Seeker supported by the Home Office National Asylum Support Service (NASS)
PLEASE NOTE:

Free School Meals can also be awarded if your child has a Statement of Special Education Needs and is designated to require a Special Diet.

Anyone over 18 years of age before the 1st August attending a Further Education College is not entitled to free school meals.

The Clothing Scheme does not apply to pupils in attendance at Nursery Schools, Nursery Units or Reception Classes or those pupils qualifying for Free School Meals under the 'Special Diet' criterion.
